2.3 Sensitive Personal Data

Birth details (date, time, and place of birth) and certain information you share in chat sessions (including health, financial, or relationship circumstances) may constitute sensitive personal data or information (SPDI) under applicable Indian law. We collect such data only with your explicit, informed consent and solely for the purpose of providing astrological Services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes, each grounded in a lawful basis:

  • Providing Services: Calculating your birth chart, generating astrological readings and reports, and facilitating chat sessions.
  • AI processing: Your birth data, chart data, and conversation messages are processed by our proprietary AI model to generate personalised astrological insights. By using the Services, you consent to this AI-based processing.
  • Account management: Creating and maintaining your account, verifying your identity via OTP, and managing your subscriptions and purchases.
  • Product improvement: Analysing usage patterns, improving our AI models, refining the accuracy of astrological outputs, and developing new features.
  • Training and research: We may use anonymised or aggregated data, as well as conversation transcripts (stripped of directly identifying information), to train, fine-tune, and evaluate our AI systems.
  • Communications: Sending transactional emails (OTPs, purchase confirmations, reading reports), and, with your consent, marketing communications.
  • Legal and safety: Complying with applicable laws, court orders, government requests, and protecting the rights, property, and safety of 9Grah, our users, and the public.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers and processors: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform, including cloud hosting providers, AI infrastructure providers, payment processors, email service providers, and analytics tools. These parties are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose your data if required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights and safety of persons.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy commitments.
  • With your consent: We may share your data for any other purpose with your explicit prior consent.

Some of our service providers are located outside India. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer of your data to such providers, who are required to maintain adequate data protection standards.

5. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer

Our Services are powered by a proprietary AI model trained in Vedic astrology. You acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • All astrological readings, predictions, interpretations, and recommendations generated through our platform are produced by an AI system and are provided for guidance, entertainment, and reflective purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind.
  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances. We make no representations or warranties as to the accuracy, reliability, or fitness of any AI-generated output.
  • You must not rely solely on any AI-generated reading when making decisions involving your health, finances, legal matters, personal relationships, or any other area of your life. You should consult qualified human professionals for such matters.

Conversation transcripts and reading data may be retained indefinitely in de-identified form for the purpose of AI model training and research.

Upon closure of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, subject to any legal retention requirements.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@9grah.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.
